Our hospital is one of Nova Scotia’s 9 regional hospitals, open 24/7 to emergencies, surgeries, labour and delivery, as well as inpatient and intensive care. We are located close to the New Brunswick border, right outside the vibrant town of Amherst, Nova Scotia.
This beautiful regional hospital was opened in 2002 in the midst of trees and gardens and a walking trail. Every unit has a sunny common area, and all patient rooms (even intensive care!) have windows looking out onto gardens. We have a busy emergency department, a 5 bed intensive care unit, 3 state of the art operating suites, the palliative care unit, and the the spacious labour, delivery and pediatric wards. We also have medical and surgical wards, rehabilitation, chronic pain and ambulatory care services, a meticulously run lab, respiratory therapy and diagnostic imaging departments; This small but mighty hospital works hard to provide the best care to residents of Nova Scotia, southern New Brunswick and beyond.
